☕️ Happy Monday

It’s time for another KDrama Coffee Break! ☕️

  • February is looking to be a great month to catch up on our watchlists. Only four premieres!

  • “Marry My Husband” & “A Shop For Killers” continue to be my kdrama happy place. Every week I’m excited to peel back another layer and learn more about these fantastic characters 🤩

  • Netflix’s “The Recruit” adds more Kdrama actors to their cast!

  • Don’t forget to vote in our February Premiere poll!

Twice a week, on Fridays & Mondays we land in your inbox with news & casting highlights, trailers from around the internet plus our kdrama weekly & monthly calendars and thoughts.

Whether you’re one of our Ko-fi Crew, YouTube friend, or a brand new arrival we are thrilled to have you as part of our kdrama community!

FEBRUARY PREMIERE CALENDAR
Breakout Your Backup Lists!

February is SPARCE! That list Marisa was talking about - the ‘one-day’ list we all have when there is a lull in the schedule…time to break it out!

  • The only premiere I’m excited about is “A Killer Paradox” because SON SUKKU - always.

  • Might jump on “Wedding Impossible” if I hear good things - it’s a different take on the contract marriage trope & JEON JONG SEO was fantastic in “Burning”.

  • “Pyramid Game” is a hard pass unless it becomes “The Glory”. Kinda spent on the HS bullying theme.

  • Will probably hit play on “Maestra: Strings of Truth”, “The Bequeathed” and maybe “My Happy Ending”… Clearly I’m in a MOOD 😆

WEEKLY LINEUP
What Are We Watching?

I’m intrigued by “Queen of Divorce” the teasers & trailers look like it could be fun and KANG KI YOUNG is one of the best comedic actors out there. I’ve only seen LEE JI AH in “Pandora: Beneath The Paradise” (don’t judge me LEE SANG YOON was the ML - iykyk 😆) and I’m afraid this could take a dark turn but so far everything I’ve seen looks like a good time.

Heads Up! The “Like Flowers in Sand” rescheduled their Finale to THIS WEEK

JENN’S WATCHLIST
Give Me All The LEE DONG WOOK 🖤

▶︎ Marry My Husband
I look forward to this show every week. The friendship our two time travelers PARK MIN YOUNG & NA IN WOO are developing is going to make the full-on romance even sweeter for me. That drone engagement with all their ‘things’ BTS 💙 & 🐈️ was simply perfection. Can you believe we’re only at the halfway mark?! Guessing the 2nd half we will be figuring out how to keep our CEO alive in 10 years so he can go all in on his long-term crush.

Love Song For Illusion
I’m behind. But it’s not a drop…yet. I kinda forgot about it and other things called to me to hit play.

A Shop For Killers
ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT! I knew PARK JI BIN was too nice! Loving everything about this drama. I just want MORE. We only have 4 episodes left and I still have so many questions! It looks like we might be getting more black ops LEE DONG WOOK this week. 😈

▶︎ LTNS (Long Time No Sex)
Definitely enjoying it more this week. There are many more layers to this story, as I’d hoped, than showed in episode one. ESOM and AHN JAE HONG are a couple I am rooting for as they seem to be working through their relationship issues as they pursue and blackmail the various couples they catch cheating.

▶︎ Knight Flower
Not much new this week. Same issues as before: fantastic cast, fun story, great bro & sismances but something…doesn’t work. We discussed this week on the LIVE and one theory is the main romance isn’t working. While I LOVE a good noona romance the age difference between LEE HANEE & LEE JONG WON is obvious. But I tune in every week and enjoy the overall story & KIM MI KYUNG’s competitive noble lady!

Flex X Cop
The perfect Friday Night drama that requires zero brainpower and is just pure fun. AHN BO HYUN’s man/child is ridiculous in a good way and watching him grow as he becomes part of the team will be an enjoyable ride. I appreciate any lead actor who allows himself to be the fool and Ahn Bo Hyun seems to be having a good time diving in! PARK JI HYUN is a force and I’m so excited to see how she dominates in her first lead role.

Captivating The King
The first four episodes packed a whole lot of story in short amount of time. All drama with not much in the way of release. Two of my favorite characters already dead. Nor is there a romance in sight. We do have a cross-dressing baduk genius FL played SHIN SE KYUNG who before being betrayed by the grand prince JO JUNG SUK, developed feelings for him. But he is now the King and our baduk player, after a three-year time jump, is on a revenge path. Not sure I’ll go the distance on this one but I will say the acting from Jo Jung Suk and CHOI DAE HOON as the royal brothers was phenomenal.
