✔︎ Moon In The Day 

Watched the finale first thing Thursday morning to avoid spoilers and I’m glad I did. Was it the ending I wanted? No. Was it still satisfying? Yes, yes it was. It was the ending the story was leading to so it felt right. I loved this drama from beginning to end. Han Rita [PYO YE JIN]and Do Ha [KIM YOUNG DAE] are the king and queen of angst in my book and their ill-fated love story was the hook that grabbed me and never let go. This was a true ENEMIES to Lovers story! I really enjoyed the writing and how normal the entire scenario played out. They didn’t rely on the usual tropes - even the amnesia was not amnesia! And I believed that Doha had been protecting Rita for 1500 years asking nothing really in return except that she gets to live a good life. Sure, I have some quibbles…like how in the world did Junho come back from the dead but Doha couldn’t stay?! (thanks to everyone who helped me work through this on Sunday’s LIVE 😆) But as the end credits rolled I was happy. And the show stuck with me all day, you know that feeling right? We get asked all the time how to get over a show and that’s exactly how I felt. I ended up hitting play on Kim Young Dae’s “Sh**ting Stars” and it’s working!

“Moon In The Day” will definitely land on both my Best of 2023 and All-Time List. Thank you for giving me THE reincarnation story I had been craving. 💗 

▶︎ A Good Day To Be A Dog 

What is happening show?! Why did we spend almost the entire episode in Joseon? Watching the Mountain God fall in love? Does anyone care about this couple? Especially after they teased us in the open with our couple CHA EUN WOO & PARK GYU YOUNG spending some time in bed recovering from the flu?! Give us more of THAT. Hoping next week we get back on track with our main couple. OH and if Mountain God/Korean History Teacher actually killed Samcheon/Golden Retriever…I will officially hate him.

I’m glad this one is only 6 episodes. I enjoy it, NOH SANG HYUN just smolders and the couple has great chemistry - that piano kiss?! - but I really don’t understand the mental hoops we jumped through to get this couple back together.

Continues to be a great Rom-Com but now I NEED answers and we only have 4 episodes left! I feel like we have a lot of ground to cover in a very short time. Is everyone Yeon Woo encounters (except her friend/servant) a reincarnation? Or did anyone else come through the portal? Who is this mysterious elven butterfly lady? What is Grandpa up to? Will our lovebirds LEE SE YOUNG and BAE IN HYUK ever consummate this marriage?! So many questions. So little time!

Sadly, this one is starting to go off the rails on me. We had a fantastic quibble session on this Sunday’s LIVE about the damsel in distress trope that we find our girl Samdal caught up in as we finish Episode 6 this week. I absolutely love the cast, the chemistry between SHIN HAE SUN and JI CHANG WOOK and many other elements but the story overall seems to be going nowhere. And I swear to god if they kill the Mom just to bring this couple ‘closer’ I will be table-flipping rage-y.

★ My Man Is Cupid

Whoa. This was much darker than I expected. So much murder. He’s a cherub FFS! I didn’t realize that being the God Of Love was so dangerous. But I love NANA and JANG DONG YOON is perfect as our dejected Cupid. Surprisingly, based on the Title, the writing is not over the top or obnoxious and is an enjoyable crime drama.

★ ✔︎ Death’s Game (Part 1)

Chatting with Marisa I called this a super DARK “It’s A Wonderful Life” - so technically a Christmas kdrama! It took me at least one episode to get into the story but once I did I was hooked. This cast is so stacked with some of our favorite kdrama Actors it’s hard watching knowing that they will not survive their storyline. Though, I’ll admit some of the deaths were laugh-out-loud funny…sorry SUNG HOON! SEO IN GUK and PARK SO DAM play really well together and I’d like to see them in another drama together in the future. I didn’t know the story was being broken into 2 Parts - with the last 4 episodes landing January 5 (I believe) - many in our Sunday LIVE were waiting to binge it in its entirety so I’ll hold off on any real discussion until then!

FYI TW: one of the lives Seo In Guk experiences is an abused baby. It’s short and powerful but I had to FF through most of it.
