This first week is the beefiest for my watchlist. I will be checking out all 3.

My other picks for the month are:

“Soundtrack #2” Noh. Sang. Hyun.

“Death’s Game” This cast is stacked. And I love a good fantasy. Hope it’s as good as the promos make it look 🤞)

“Gyeongseong Creature Part 1” Between “Sweet Home 2” and this creepy part one we have the monster genre covered this month! Who knew December was the new month for Horror? I’m just hoping WI HA JOON makes it to Part 2 in January!

“Tell Me You Love Me” has not on my radar at all. Let me know if I need to jump on this one!

I’m excited for “Welcome To Samdalri” and the long-awaited JI CHANG WOOK / SHIN HAE SUN match-up.

(We are also getting a “Healer” reunion with Healer himself and Hacker Ahjumma!! The shriek I let out when I saw that teaser 🥰)

Hoping it’s good overall. I was horribly disappointed with “See You In My 19th Life” so I am a tad nervous.

My gut tells me that “My Man Is Cupid” is either going to be an absolute delight or completely unwatchable 😆 I could use another solid romcom so I’m hoping it falls in the delightful category 🤞

“Sweet Home 2” is not a MUST WATCH for me but I am curious where they’re taking the story. And I love the women in this cast. However, I am VERY worried that PARK GYU YOUNG did not seem to have a character poster…

I’ll be watching both “Vigilante” and “Perfect Marriage Revenge” and hoping for solid endings. It’s really a toss-up right now 😆

JENN’S WATCHLIST

✔︎ Vigilante This has been a weird little drama. Not good. Not bad. Great character setups but we really haven’t spent any time with them so I’m not attached to anyone. NAM JOO HYUK finally had a scene worthy of his skill & not just skulking around in his kdrama issue bad guy outfit, with an under-explored backstory, beating people to death…So I’m hoping this comic book brought to life gives us a satisfying ending.

OH! And how could I forget?! LEE JOON HYUK. He is totally stealing the show. I just want to hang out with him in his Bat/Ironman wannabe world!

▶︎ Moon In The Day Still has me in a chokehold. I can’t explain it logically. I am just enjoying the journey so SO much. Their tragic past becomes more heartbreaking with every dream about their ill-fated love. And as of right now, the present timeline shows no glimmer of a happy ending.

But dammit these two have earned one after 1500 years!!

(Why do I love this drama? 😆)

I have been thinking about why THIS one is doing such things to me…yes, I adore the leads KIM YOUNG DAE and PYO HYE JIN but it’s more than that. At the end of the day, I think it’s the writing over on team ENA. They are truly a notch above the rest, for my tastes.

They have already given me some of my favorites in recent memory: “The Kidnapping Day”, “Gaus Electronics”, “Delivery Man” and “Strangers Again”. Each of these stories surprised me with really smart scripts and characters that I truly cared about. Making choices that were consistent with what the plot set up and not just to serve an ending we have to get to in X number of episodes. In addition to that, they all have that dash of added magic - you can’t explain - that made them feel just a touch different than what we are usually offered. And “Moon In The Day” ticks all those boxes for me, at least through episode 8.

So now we’re headed into the back half - and even more angst and heartache. That adorable date in the amusement part pretty much gave us the signal to ‘enjoy this now, things are about to get worse’.

Though as I’ve said previously, I think the writers have sprinkled in there some nuggets of hope…Kdrama Prayer Circle Activated. Come on KDrama Gods!

▶︎ A Good Day To Be A Dog I need more than just one episode of this adorable story a week! Looks like the curse may get lifted this week & then we have the back half to figure out the OTHER past life curse and the Korean History teacher’s shenanigans.

PARK GYU YOUNG and CHA EUN WOO are so perfect for these characters. It barely feels like acting.

If you are in need of a feel-good, fun & funny romcom - that feels real & earned I can not recommend “A Good Day To Be A Dog” enough. Though I might wait until it’s closer to finished - this one episode-a-week airing schedule is ROUGH.

✘ My Demon Just did not work for me. And with the December calendar coming this week - cuts have to be made!

▶︎ The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract On the other hand, was a delight and I’m looking forward to what this time slip romcom is going to give us!

Things that stood out after the first 2 Episodes:

• LEE SE YOUNG is so freaking gorgeous AND hilarious it is truly not fair.

• It was a genuinely funny and fun 2+ hours!

• Our couple has a nice chemistry that I am eager to explore.

• Irrationally happy that our maid/bff also managed to find the portal to modern-day Seoul to give our lost girl at least one real friend! (And wasn’t just a reincarnated version)

• We all knew ‘the colored-eyed’ lady was going to be magical right?

• HIS PAINTING!?!

• The KDrama Gods are really giving me ALL the past lives/reincarnation stories lately - Thank You!

✔︎ Perfect Marriage Revenge Hate to say this but I’m ready to wrap this one up. I can’t believe, in the last FOUR EPISODES, they haven’t mentioned anything about the how of it all. Especially after learning that both our leads have been kicked back in time to fix things and are theoretically DEAD. It does look like we finally will get there in the next (& final) week but hooo boy this week’s eps were not my favorite. Hoping it gets back to the fun of the first half…or did I just hit the makjang wall? 😆
