☕️ PARK MIN YOUNG: KDrama Return with Revenge Drama "Marry My Husband"

Felt like it was a huge Kdrama Casting week and it was but only a few shows. Mostly larger casts or great pairings. Let me know which one has you the most jazzed 🤩

Just in time for Zombie season: We dropped our latest REWATCH podcast 2021’s “Happiness” with PARK HYUNG SIK & HAN HYO JOO. We tackled the 1st half this week (back half next week) Had a great time breaking this one down!

✅ CONFIRMED: PARK MIN YOUNG will be returning to our Kdrama screens in January in the webtoon-based drama “Marry My Husband”. The story revolves around a terminally ill woman who gets a second chance at life when she goes back in time 10 years after being murdered by her husband when she witnesses said husband and her best friend having an affair. Her husband will be played by LEE YI KYUNG, best friend is SONG HA YOON and NA IN WOO will be her one ally as she forges a new life and her revenge. Currently scheduled to air in January. I’m READY!

✅ CONFIRMED: SO JI SUB and a slew of our favorite kdrama dudes are confirmed for the crime drama “Mercy For None” based on the webtoon “Plaza Wars”. Another noir drama about gangs in Seoul vying for dominance and So Ji Sub’s revenge after his brother is murdered by the rival gang. No date yet for when it will air. After “The Worst of Evil” I think I’m ready for a bit of a break from the intense Noir genre - I’m exhausted! And let’s be honest…SO. MANY. DUDES.🧐 But I’ll probably hit play!

✅ CONFIRMED: SO JOO YEON is joining the faculty in “Graduation” with WI HA JOON and JUNG RYEO WON. Fingers crossed this isn’t a love triangle setup but we love to see So Joo Yeon any time she shows up on our screens!

✅ CONFIRMED: KIM NAM GIL & KIM YOUNG KWANG are teaming up for a new crime drama currently titled “Trigger”. Kim Nam Gil will be taking on the role of a police officer who does not want the influx of guns coming into South Korea. While Kim Young Kwang continues his ‘villain’ era portraying the gun runner who is bringing firearms into the country. Scheduled to air in 2025…though that seems a really long way off so that may change.

✅ CONFIRMED: LEE SUN BIN & KIM MIN SEOK will be leading a new horror film currently titled “Noise”, along with RYU KYUNG SOO & HAN SOO AH. “Noise” will tell the story surrounding Lee Sun Bin’s sister disappearing without a trace & what the noises in their apartment - heard and unheard - mean 😱 Currently filming, with a plan to release in the 2nd half of 2024.

🧐 OFFERED: BLACKPINK JISOO is reviewing an offer to join AHN HYO SEOP and LEE MIN HO in their latest movie “Omniscient Reader”. A fantasy tale about an average office worker whose favorite web novel ‘Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse’ suddenly becomes reality - and he has to use his knowledge of the story to save the world. No word on what role Jisoo is considering.

🧐 OFFERED: WOO DO HWAN & JANG DONG GUN offered the lead roles for the upcoming noir movie “Tropical Night” filming in Thailand. No story details yet!

🚫 DROPPED: LEE SUN KYUN has officially dropped out of the upcoming drama “No Way Out” due to his impending drug investigation. He was scheduled to begin filming in late October. So it begins. I know he had a few projects that were already completed…it will be interesting to see what happens with those. We’ll keep you posted.

We are discussing how well (or not) this Zombie Kdrama works as a microcosm for classism, patriarchy, and humanity during Covid. And of course the magic of the chemistry between our two leads!
