Seems the “Flex X Cop” team is already working on a Season 2! This has been one of my favorites and I’ve said repeatedly - I hope I get to spend more time with this crew - so obviously I’m super jazzed. Makes the finale not so final 🎉

It’s a big week for my watchlist!

Sadly, I have to say goodbye (for now, see below!) to “Flex X Cop”. It’s been a great ride & fingers crossed they stick the landing 🤞 

But as I bid farewell to AHN BO HYUN & Team I am welcoming LEE JOON and the crazy bunch from “Escape of the Seven” back to my weekly watchlist. Can’t wait to see how bonkers this season will be! 🤩 

I’m also intrigued by the other 2 crime premieres we have on tap this week:“Nothing Uncovered” & “Hide”. Excited about both casts and I am always up for solid crime drama. 🕵️

”Flex X Cop” Planning S2 as S1 Wraps Up

Heading into the finale our poor Ji Soo [AHN BO HYUN] is in a tailspin. His hyung lied to him, his step-mom ordered the murder of said hyung’s biological father, dad continues to hide the truth of his mother’s death, he quit his police gig, and his hair is DOWN. In. Public. He’s a mess. All the angst we thought we’d dodged after the ‘suicide’ reveal has come crashing down in this week’s episodes. I just don’t see a truly satisfying conclusion in only 2 episodes. And I don’t want to rush it either with a weird time jump and Ji Soo is all fine and goofy again in the last 5 min. They’ve been discussing a season 2 since the began promoting “FlexXCop” and the ratings have been great so here’s my plea to the Kdrama Gods: End it on a cliffhanger and give us more of this wacky crew in 2025 🙏

▶︎ Wonderful World

CHA EUN WOO and his mysterious character is why I’m still here. What is his plan? What’s with this sudden heart condition? Who is the true owner of the diary? What does that creepy look at the end of Episode 6 mean?!

I can see, sort of, what they are trying to do with KIM NAM JOO’s character and the consequences of her actions but I am not attached to her story at all. Honestly, I feel bad for her husband [KIM KANG WOO] - just like in “VIP” (iykyk 🤬) - the grief the husband is going through is completely ignored and he has been treated like trash for something that happened after his wife MURDERED someone, was put in prison and promptly served him divorce papers. My guess is there will still be a truly ‘trashy’ reveal by the end (cough, IM SE MI, cough) but with what I know at this point, I need that man to catch a break.

▶︎ Queen of Tears

I’m really digging this 2nd chance romance. KIM JI WON & KIM SOO HYUN have bangin’ chemistry. I dare say it’s my favorite from both of them (sorry JIN GOO & DOTS) I’m a little bummed out that PARK SUNG HOON is once again a borderline psychopath - though he does excel in those roles 😆 I hope we get to see him another “Inside The Ring” or “Not Others” or even “The Kidnapping Day” character soon! I miss swoon-worthy nerd Park Sung Hoon. Overall this is a solid win for my watchlist. But my god these episodes are forever and unnecessarily long. I don’t need this many side quests throughout the epically dysfunctional Queen family. I do on the other hand love how ridiculous our country family is…y’all know I’m a fickle B 😉 

NEWS BITES
Give us our Second Season!

📣 Break out the chanting circle! “A Shop For Killers” was in the news this past week not only as the most viewed Disney+ local original for the Asia Pacific Region, but at a recent press conference - to reveal their 2024 lineup - a Disney+ executive teased that they are indeed in discussions to continue this successful LEE DONG WOOK KIM HYE JOON series!

📣 Speaking of much anticipated Second Seasons! The wildly popular KIM HYE SOO, JO JIN WOONG & LEE JE HOON led kdrama “Signal” is in development with writer KIM EUN HEE.

📣 K3 Favorite KIM SUN YOUNG won Best Actress for her role in “Concrete Utopia” at the 22nd Director’s Cut Awards.

📣 And in more ‘FFS! Just let them LIVE’ news. Twitter imploded this past week with the news that HAN SO HEE & RYU JUN YEOL are in fact, dating. THE SCANDAL 😱 It started with a post from a fan in Hawaii who saw the 2 together. Followed by an unusually soft denial, then some IG shenanigans from the ex & a swift (now deleted) IG rebuttal from Han So Hee. THEN Han So Hee comes clean & confirms, followed by Ryu Jun Yeo confirming the relationship. Netizens ramp up the mess - positive there was overlap, Han So Hee attempts to make it better - fails. Proceeds to wipe her blog and make her SNS private. Ryu Jun Yeo returns from Hawaii like he’s been extradited. Bonkers. Completely Bonkers.
