How is it September already?!

Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes & hung out at our WatchParty last week - you made it a truly wonderful day!

What else is going on?

My watchlist is really sparse these days.

I am still watching and enjoying “My Lovely Liar”. Every time I think they’re going full trope this show manages to surprise me in the best way. Our couple is one of the healthiest and most adorable without being way too EXTRA (you know what I’m talking about 😜)

Of course they found the body. Our couple was only allowed 2 episodes of happiness. Looking forward to this week’s eps for sure!

Finally finished “If You Wish Upon Me”

I’d been stalled out with 2 eps to go FOREVER. So I finally hit play to take it off my list! Ultimately, I liked it...I think. Mostly Ji Chang Wook & Choi Sooyoung. They had great chemistry - and I don’t just mean romantically - though I do wish they had given us more story regarding the building of their relationship. Can’t really call it enemies to lovers? Maybe brats to lovers? Loved the message of hospice and final wishes. Cried more than I prefer 😆 (Son’s trip over the rainbow bridge about broke me) but they were all good cries so I’ll allow it!

Glad I finished it - not all that I leave dangling with 2 eps to go make it to “Completed”.

😿 SEPTEMBER LINEUP kicks off this week with 2 Big Premieres. But as the double strike rolls on, we still can't talk about 5 out of the 8 new kdramas headed our way this month.

🤞DAY OF THE KIDNAPPING & 7 ESCAPE still don't have streamers listed. Keeping our fingers crossed they land on either VIKI or KOCOWA.

🤩 IT’S OFFICIAL! This news was too fun to wait until Friday! LEE SOO HYUK confirmed he will be leading his first kdrama: "S-Line” based on a popular webtoon by the same name. He will be playing a detective searching for the truth behind the mysterious red lines. 

We also got word over the weekend that LEE DA HEE (!!!) is also joining the project as an eccentric high school teacher. Plus Oh My Girl’s ARIN (who we know from “Alchemy of Souls”) will be playing the high school student, Hyun Heup, who has been able to see the red lines since birth. [Soompi]

This setup is super juicy. And I’m obviously excited for the Lee Soo Hyuk and Lee Da Hee matchup. But we’ve been burned before “Island”, “L.U.C.A”, “Born Again” I mean the list is sadly, endless….so Kdrama Gods, if you’re listening: PLEASE BE GOOD! 🙏

A GOOD WEEK TO BE CHA EUN WOO

📸 “A Good Day To Be A Dog” promotion has officially begun! The production team released pics from the first script reading of CHA EUN WOO, PARK GYU YOUNG & LEE HYUN WOO. [Soompi]

📚Then additional stills of CHA EUN WOO’s character, high school math teacher, Jin Seo Won. Sadly, “A Good Day To Be A Dog” is slated to only air one ep a week on Wednesday’s (noooooo!) starting October 11th and running until January 2024. No Streamer is listed yet. [MyDramaList]

🐶 And keeping the promo machine rolling, MBC dropped the first teaser posters! [MBC Drama]

✈️ Even when he wasn’t in actor mode Cha Eun Woo was still Brand Ambassador-ing. Attending the Lady Dior event on 09/02 in Seoul and then off to Singapore for the Chaumet pop-up boutique at Singapore’s ION Orchard on 09/05. The Man is BUSY. [SNS]

❤️‍🔥 EXTRA CREDIT: It’s a fact we adore PARK GYU YOUNG & CHA EUN WOO here at the K3 and are super jazzed to hit play on “A Good Day To Be A Dog”. We just hope the writing works as well as their chemistry in the Urban Zakapa music video from a few years back in 2018!

7️⃣ LEE JOON talks about his upcoming drama & casting in “7 Escape". I first ‘met’ him in “The Silent Sea” and was intrigued by the slightly unhinged crew member. I then quickly became obsessed with his best-dressed, tragic (of course) villain in “Bulgasal”. But it was in “Bloody Heart” with his tortured King and ill-fated rival Queen, that I knew I would watch him in just about anything. His latest is from the “Penthouse” team so I expect this new character to be completely bonkers. SO MUCH YES! [Soompi]

🎶 KIM SE JEONG is making a comeback as an artist. We don’t usually follow or discuss Kpop much here at the K3, but we love fellow August Virgo Kim Se Jeong. So of course we will keep you updated on whatever it is she’s working on! (And maybe even add her new stuff to my playlist if it’s as fierce and fun as her kdrama roles are 😻) [Soompi]

🤩 Who doesn’t love a good list? This is a solid list of great BLs to check out with “Where Your Eyes Linger” and “To My Star” making the cut. But I would have also included “You Make Me Dance” and with out a doubt “Semantic Error”, which I consider to be the best all-around - acting, script + production value - BL out there. “Leave Anything” 

I’ve been waiting for this one since I heard the show was announced. My “Bias”(as the kids say 😜) LEE SANG YOON is going to be traveling around South Korea with KIM NAM GIL on motorcycles, while meeting mentors and discussing LIFE. I could not get enough of Lee Sang Yoon on “Masters In The House” and this seems to have a similar vibe. Just hoping I can find it somewhere with subs…come on KDrama Gods help a girl out!!

“My Worst Neighbor”

This movie has been all over my Twitter timeline lately and it looks really like a cute romcom on Viki. Finally, we get to see LEE JI HOON in a non-tragic, non-douchebag role and maybe even get the girl - what?! Madness!
