I’ve been moving all week and I am finally, sort of, in my new place. So no surprise my watchlist is a mess and I got nothing done this week (except packing, unpacking, cleaning, organizing…my brain is mush!) Though I did find time for my “Gyeongseong Creature” “Death’s Game” binge 😜

I know many of you look forward to the weekly calendar so I wanted to make sure I got that out.

Did anyone watch “Maestra: Strings of Truth”? I’m intrigued but I need a good referral to hit play!

“Good Day To Be A Dog” had some of the best chemistry I’ve seen and PARK GYU YOUNG & CHA EUN WOO made this a must-watch for me. But my god the Mountain God and his storyline? Complete maddening mess. I wonder if it would have been less annoying if we got two episodes a week instead of one?

”Gyeongseong Creature” Super Satisfying Close to 2023!

★ Marry My Husband
Enjoyed the first 2 eps far more than I expected. Looking forward to seeing where PARK MIN YOUNG’s revenge takes us! Who do we think NA IN WOO’s character is? He seems very fairy godfather to me right now…🤔

★ My Happy Ending
I gave this one a shot. I love JANG NARA and SON HO JUN but man this drama came out of the gate intense and my anxiety was through the roof! Think I’m waiting to hear if I’ll be a good binge deeper in.

▶︎ A Good Day To Be A Dog 
Weirdly not ready to be done with this one. The ridiculous Mountain God storyline took away too much time from our Puppy Couple and just one episode of them as a real couple is not going to be enough!

✔︎  The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract 
Didn’t get to it yet 😬 Sort of spoiled from Twitter but I’ll watch them before Sunday’s LIVE!

Y’all need your help, I didn’t get to these episodes this week. The question now is:

★✔︎ Death’s Game Part 2
The cast of this KDrama was everything. Kinda knew where we were going to end up but the journey so so worth it. Fun, funny, thoughtful, tragic, satisfying…it was just so many things! Of all the supporting cast it was KIM MI KYUNG’s performance as Yee-Jae that truly got me. She’s such a phenomenal actor and watching her use more than just her ‘mom’ skills was such a treat.

★✔︎ Gyeongseon Creature Part 2
One of the most oddly satisfying KDrama’s I watched in 2023. Violent as hell but a profound allegory for war and man’s inhumanity against man. I’ll be honest, if this was a straight drama I’m not sure I would have been able to sit through it, but wrapped in a ‘creature’ horror story it was very powerful as well as entertaining. As I said last week, I’ve never enjoyed PARK SEO JOON more. This is the most mature character I’ve seen him play and it was captivating. And when HAN SO HEE plays these fierce yet vulnerable characters I am always invested. The supporting cast was also fantastic. WI HA JOON actually survived to the end! KIM HAE SOOK, as always, brought her gravitas and steeliness to another complex character. Excited that it looks like this story isn’t over with Part 2!

NEWS BITES
78 Years Later?!

📣 Netflix announced that we are INDEED getting a “Gyeongseong Creature Season 2”. Love that they acknowledge they left us hanging with that neck scar and time jump!

Checking out the new stills, we are definitely in modern South Korea. The post from Netflix Korea translation tells us specifically Season 2 picks up 78 years later?! So now we wait. Season 2 will be released sometime in 2024.
