You all know I’ve been not so patiently waiting for “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” and we’re finally here!! Please be good….

Welcome Back JANG KI YONG!

▶︎ Lovely Runner

Adult Ryu Seon Jae BYEON WOO SEOK & Im Sol KIM HYE YOON did NOT disappoint. I want to stay here in this timeline forever! But we’re only at the ½ way mark and hot, “15 years of yearning” doorway kisses aside there is still a ton of story to tell.

We hit the midpoint turn with our couple finally confirming and expressing their feelings - seriously that kiss was so good! The consent. The intensity. The active participation of ALL parties. I’m gonna need more! Then of course it goes to shit with Seon Jae being attacked by Im Sol’s 2009 assailant and in surgery. So the timeline has changed but Seon Jae is still in danger. And there was a blink and you’ll miss him, moment where we see Kim Tae Sun SONG GEON HEE in 2023 in front of Im Sol’s place, at least I think that’s where we was…excited to see how he factors into all this.

I just realized that this is directed by “Flower of Evil” director YOON JONG HO so I know we’re in good hands.

▶︎ Nothing Uncovered

As we head into the final 2 eps my stance that JANG SEUNG JO’s Seol Woo Jae is the most tragic character in this tale, remains. His arc has been the backbone of the entire plot and every week a new heartbreaking piece comes to the surface. I’m not expecting much in the way of happiness for this character when the final credits role but Jang Seung Jo really did him justice.

▶︎ Blood Free

I can’t believe we only have 2 episodes left! Definitely need more of this duo HAN HYO JOO & JU JI HOON. Their unbelievable chemistry has been mentioned every week and this week it took it to 11…seriously why is it always the non romances that have the most intense chemistry?!

★ Frankly Speaking

Not sure I’m going to go the distance on this KANG HANNA GO KYUNG PYO comedy but I didn’t hate it either. I did actually laugh out loud a few times, but overall it was just sort of meh. If I have time I’ll check it out again this week and see how I feel.

▶︎ Escape of The Seven: Resurrection

I can’t believe we still have 4 eps to go! The level of absurd has reached ridiculous levels but I am here to the end - ah the power LEE JOON 🤩 Who will survive? Who’s getting a happy ending? Who actually deserves one?! Will ‘Baek Eun Na’ finally get her staring role? So many questions left to answer and so many more bonkers moments until we get to the finale.

★ The Atypical Family

Solid start. Great world building. So good to see JANG KI YONG again! LOVE that Do Da Hee CHUN WOO HEE is a con artist from a con artist family that targeted his family. Wasn’t thrilled with the whole fat suit situation but am intrigued by the teasing of a potential relationship developing between Bok Dong Hee and the con artist sister / personal trainer Grace. Plus the daughter Bok Yi Na PARK SO YI is a nugget and I’m looking forward to watching her relationship with her dad grow and learn more about those blue eyes of power!
